Incredible Photo Manipulation

Photo manipulation is an ever evolving collaboration between photography and graphic design.
Combining certain elements to create a unique image, that can convince even the most experienced set of eyes, requires a very creative set of skills.
Because the manipulation of a photo gives a realistic view of an unreal picture, you should have an open mind when gathering ideas on how to get creative with your images.
Photo manipulations are a great source for inspiration, generally because designers are able to express their creativity through various aspects of design.
Several of the following images contain illustrative elements, while others display a more realistic approach.
So here are 40 of the most incredible examples of photo manipulation.

Most Beautiful Places Of The World

Most Beautiful Places Of The World
We live in a world blessed with sights that are beautiful beyond words. Every human being dreams of and possesses a desire to visit those places in their lifetime. Living in modern cities with high-rise buildings, we tend to miss out on what mother-nature has to offer and some of the man-made structures par excellence.
Look at these places and you will see beauty that fills the eye and warms the heart. It is not only inappropriate to just pick a few places from the huge expanse of the world but also humanly impossible.
They say that ‘beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder,’ and there are perhaps other places that have touched your heart. For this reason, we do not claim that these places we are bringing to you are the best, but they are certainly among the most beautiful places of the world.

National Geographic's Photography Contest 2010

National Geographic is once again holding their annual Photo Contest, with the deadline for submissions coming up on November 30th. For the past eight weeks, they have been gathering and presenting galleries of submissions, encouraging readers to rate them as well. National Geographic was again kind enough to let me choose some of their entries from 2010 for display here on The Big Picture. Collected below are 47 images from the three categories of People, Places and Nature. Captions were written by the individual photographers. (47 photos total)

Conceptual photography

Conceptual photography fundamentally is the photographer trying to transmit a message or “concept”. Usually this message is conveyed through some theoretical symbolism which can be interpreted by the viewer. Even though most photographers have a specific meaning they are trying to get across, usually the image can be interpreted in many different ways. This kind of photography often involves use of computer editing to achieve the desired effects, but many artists work without the computer. Usually the conception of the idea precedes the realization of the photography. Whatever the technique, conceptual photography is known to be one of the most creative genre of photography.

Extreme World ; Most Peaceful Countries

Peace equals prosperity

In 2005, after traveling through Africa looking for business opportunities, Australian entrepreneur Steve Killelea became discouraged. It had become apparent to him that, while there were plenty of ways to measure how violent a country was, there were no such measures of how peaceful a country was. So he decided to create the Global Peace Index. Today, the GPI measures 144 nations based on 23 indicators of the existence or absence of peace both within and outside a country’s borders.

Col-De-Turini-1
Col-De-Turini-2

Situated more than 1 mile above sea level, Col de Turini is a mountain pass situated in south of France in the Alps. It’s also part of a 20 miles rally stage of the Monte Carlo Rally of WRC, which combines 34 challenging hairpins and long stretches where cars top 111 mph. It is one of the most exciting roads on Earth.  The pass was featured in the very first episode of Top Gear series 10, when the presenters went in search of the greatest driving road in the world. At its highest point, Col de Turini  is 1607m high. In the north, the Col de Turini starts  with a dazzling series of hairpins. Finally, we end up riding in a gorge, with a wild river on the left, and a steep rock-wall on the right.
