शुक्रबार बिहान ८ दशमलव ९ रेक्टर स्केलको महाभूकम्पका कारण आएको सुनामीले उत्तरी जापानको सेन्दाइ सहरका सिङ्गै नगरहरु बगाएको छ । जापानको राष्ट्रिय टेलिभिजन एनएचकेका दृश्यहरुमा अग्ला घरहरु र तेल प्रशोधन केन्द्रमा आगो लाग्दै गरेको, मानिसहरु भाग्दै गरेको र ज्वालामुखीबाट निस्कने लाभा जस्तो समुद्री छालले नगर पूरै बगाएर विध्वंस गरिरहेको दृश्य देखिएको छ।
अमेरिकी भूगर्भ सर्भेका अनुसार भूकम्पको केन्द्रबिन्दु राजधानी टोक्योबाट ३ सय ७३ किलोमिटर टाढा थियो तर त्यहाँ पनि भूकम्पको धक्का महसूस गरिएको थियो। भूकम्पका कारण टोक्यो र वरपरका ४० लाख घरमा विद्युत आपूर्ति बन्द भएको छ।भूकम्पका कारण प्रशान्त महासागरमा सुनामी आएको छ। प्रशान्त महासागर छोएका ताइवान, फिलिपिन्स लगायत विभिन्न देशका समुद्री किनारमा सुनामी पुगेको छ।
यसैबीच जापानमा बस्ने नेपालीहरु भने सुरक्षित रहेका छन् । नेपालीको अवस्थाबारे जापानस्थित राजदूतावास र संघसंस्थाहरुले तथ्यांक संकलन सुरु गरेका छन् ।
